Description: I have a number of stunning UK & Worldwide Navigational sea map charts listed showing many coastal towns and islands dating mostly from the 1960-70s. These maps were in use on the MV Serbistan which was built in 1966 and was part of the Strick Line, later to be absorbed by the P&O group (when it was renamed "Strathangus"). As they have come from use they have mostly at some point been neatly updated or amended by hand. Which as far as I am concerned adds to the beauty and history of the maps, knowing that each one has actually been used and has been to the places displayed upon them. The majority are from 19th century engravings and are subtly shaded and coloured as opposed to the more modern brightly coloured maps. As such they make a stunning visual statement framed and hung, however the fine detail is not picked out brilliantly in the photos provided. (They look much better in person!) Folio Sheet Number: L(D5)1872Printed: 1971.Notes: .Condition: This map has been well looked after but was a working map and as such it may have a few navigational notes and map updates on it and show some slight signs of wear. It is centrally folded as published (unless a single sheet map) but otherwise has been kept flat in a folio folder, it is free from any noteworthy damage. Please view the photos provided in close up if possible.Postage: The map will be sent in a tube, multiple maps can be sent for the same price as one.
