These 1972 copyrighted (1972 ©) horse statues were often used as the trophy figure topper for awards in American-Quarter-Horse horseback riding competitions. All of these solid brass horse figures I am selling on eBay were awarded to a teen girl for "Champion Youth Gelding" riding during the 1970s OR early 1980s. THE TROPHY WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY SIX (6) POUNDS & EIGHT (8) OUNCES! THE TROPHY WILL BE SHIPPED DISASSEMBLED: THIS WILL LOWER THE SHIPPING COST BY OVER 50% PLEASE NOTE: At the start of this listing (July 2024), I had twelve (12) of these statues which I bought at an estate sale. Rather than have to take the time to photograph each & every one of these statues (as well as having to have so m-a-n-y identical listings on eBay); I decided to list them all in one (1) listing. ALL OF THE STATUES ARE IDENTICAL IN FORM & DESIGN AS WELL AS ALL BEING IN IDENTICAL/NEARLY-IDENTICAL COLLECTIBLE CONDITION!!! ALL OF THE STATUES HAVE THE E-X-A-C-T SAME MARKINGS, COPYRIGHT DATE & MANUFACTURER!!! The only differences amongst the twelve (12) statues are: The brass plaque on each trophy have assorted competition locations, various dates/years & other assorted data regarding the details of when/why/where it was awarded. ALL are trophies for "American-Quarter Horse Association" competitions in North Carolina & ALL are for "Champion Youth Gelding". The pattern of the brass patina will vary as does the amount of dirt & such. The statue in the photos above show what the statue c-a-n look like with a little bit of cleaning & polishing. Please fully read the condition description below for more details. THESE AMERICAN QUARTER HORSE ASSOCIATION SOLID-BRASS HORSE STATUES/TROPHIES/AWARDS TYPICALLY SELL ON eBay FOR ABOUT $50 (PLUS SHIPPING). BECAUSE OF THE TIME I AM SAVING BY OFFERING THE STATUES IN THIS MANNER; I AM SELLING THEM FOR ONLY $24.95 EACH (OR BEST OFFER). I AM ALSO OFFERING A VOLUME DISCOUNT OF: 5% OFF TWO (2) STATUES! 1% OFF THREE (3) STATUES! 15% OFF FOUR OR MORE (4 & UP) STATUES! EACH STATUE CONSISTS OF THE FOLLOWING PARTS: ONE (1) 7¼-INCH TALL SOLID CAST-BRASS HORSE: The entire ONE (1) piece casting consists of the horse attached by all four (4) of its hooves to an area of earth/ground/grass/dirt/soil. The horse itself stands 7¼ inches tall, plus an extra ¼ of an inch for the sod which it stands upon. To the shoulder of the horse is about 5 inches (not including the "soil" base. The length from "nose-to-tail" is 8½ inches. Cast into the section of earth is "© AMERICAN QUARTER HORSE ASS'N (ASSOCIATION)" on the front-facing long edge; i.e. the long edge that the horse is turning towards. The non-magnetic cast-metal appears to be highly-polished solid brass. I have scratched-tested one of the statues on the underside of its base & my very deep scratch still showed brass. The horse bolts onto the base via two (2) screws through the underside of the patch of soil/earth that the horse stands upon. The underside has "1972" cast into the metal; this is likely the copyright date of the statue. Underneath the "1972", there is "——— OF CALIFORNIA" cast into the brass; the "———" is a ground-off spot (either on the original work or hand-ground off from each statue), which must have show either the artist, foundry or caster. ONE (1) WALNUT OR MAHOGANY WOOD BASE: About 10½ inches long, 5½ wide & 1½ inches thick. The base consists of an either WALNUT or MAHOGANY jointed-slab (i.e. N-O-T solid wood) with a routed-out stair-step design around the circumference & has rounded corners. ONE (1) ~7-INCH ENGRAVED METAL AWARD PLAQUE: Dated sometime between the early 1970s to the early 1980s. Affixed with two (2) tiny brass screws. This is the year the cast-metal horse figurine was used for as a part of a trophy; N-O-T the year the horse statue itself was copyrighted, which was 1972.
