HISTORY BACKGROUND: The world congress of peace-loving forces for international security and disarmament, national independence, cooperation and peace  - was held in Moscow palace 25 - 31 October 1973. The slogan is "Peace is everyone's business." The Congress was attended by 3200 delegates, representatives of 120 international and 1100 national organizations and movements from 143 countries of the world. The purpose of the Congress is to develop a common approach to problems, the solution of which is vital for the establishment of a lasting peace on our planet. The World Congress of Peace Forces convened at a time when the world began to break out of the dead ends of the Cold War, when the process of detente was marked by the first notable successes, when it faced new, more complex tasks and, at the same time, serious difficulties emerged on its way and obstacles - when, therefore, an urgent need arose to comprehend the achieved results of detente and to outline further prospects for the struggle to make it a truly universal and irreversible process. This is precisely the task that the World Congress of Peace Forces fulfilled. Leonid Brezhnev, Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the CPSU, spoke at the congress with a detailed program of struggle for a just, democratic peace, for the security of peoples and international cooperation.     ________________________________________________________________________★UPS express 4-6 days door-to-door shipping.
