The map was published by the Texas Highway Department in 1975 and it is dated in the legend. The code number in the lower margin is 4751. Texas typically issued more than one edition of its official highway map each year. The code number in the lower margin identifies the month of publication (first digit), year of publication (middle two digits), and edition (last digit). According to the Official Maps Master List at the website of the Road Map Collectors Association, there were two editions of the Texas 1975 official state highway map.
