Description: Not something you see every day. Essentially new - I was the first to open this. Came from an electronics warehouse and the box was in mint condition. Had never been used, so I had to open it and test it and check the disk condition. These use a disk of magnetic tape that turns under one erase/record head and a pair of playback heads for a nice range of warm, old school tape echo tones. The disk is sealed in a plastic bubble, so doesn't require as much maintenance. The EM-200 was invented and made by Melos (a Japanese electronics company that still exists today) and though sold under their name, was more often re-branded to other companies such as Univox, Monacor and Echolette (a German company that is still making guitar amps today). I inspected everything, cleaned the heads (not that they needed it), checked the voltage coming in (perfect!) and it is ready to rumble. Only date code I saw in there was for 1978 (on the motor) - these were made only in the late 70's. Comes in original box with original packaging, includes the manual (in German), though the English EM-200 manual is available online. I am also including a Pete's Pedals footswitch so the effect can be turned on and off remotely (requires a mono instrument cable). The effect on this records your instrument then plays it back on two different heads spaced differently for a combination of shorter and longer delay. The heads/delay times can be mixed together or used separately. There is a delay length control that affects the speed of the motor and a "fine tune" control for more precise adjustments. There is a repeats control and, unlike in any other versions of the EM-200 I have seen, there is a 6-pin output plug. This connects to different jacks and controls on the inside and seems to have something to do with switching the different heads in and out, but I cannot say for sure. I can find no info on what this actually does, including translating the German instruction manual on Google. The English version of the user manual can be found on the EstEcho webpage.
