The 1988 season was a memorable one for the Fighting Irish, as they went on to win the National Championship after beating West Virginia in the Fiesta Bowl. The team that season fielded six All-Americans, Lou Holtz was named College Coach of the Year, and an unbelievable 30 players went on to be chosen in the NFL Draft. This was also the team that played in the infamous "Catholics vs. Convicts" game versus Miami on Oct. 15, 1988, which Notre Dame won 31 to 30. Most collectors are unaware that a set of 60 football cards were released by Notre Dame that season, and over thirty years later the cards simply aren't found very often. As a longtime oddball card collector, I've been able to tuck a couple of these sets in my personal collection over the years... But I have never found this set available in any quantity until recently! In the past I have sold "common" cards from this set on eBay for $7.95 each. Thanks to my recent purchase of several sets, I'm now able to sell quantity lots at a considerably lower price. The cards are in NRMT or better condition, coming straight from factory sets.
