Description: 19th Century German Hand Painted Osnabruck Topographical Scene & Gold Plate Nice antique mid to late 19th century German porcelain plate with relief molded and gilt scrollwork edge. Decorated with a hand painted topographical landscape scene framed in gold with the name of the scene, Osnabruck, below in black script. Unmarked, but reads "Neue Anlage auf den lieben Hugeln hinterm Johannis Thore" on the reverse in black script, which translates to "New system on the lovely hills behind the Johannis Thore." Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks. Measures approximately 7 7/8 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece. KU
