These are WW1 era cards, each depicting a doughboy, one dancing and other writing a letter and smoking a cigarette, daydreaming of a sweetheart and home. The Dancing soldier postcard is used. It has a letter written Sept 29, 1917 from Harold Hames to his mother, Mrs. Thomas Hames, Hawley, PA. The smoking soldier is an unused postcard, it reads, "Across My Vision, Comes A Scene, Of Home and Loves Ones Dear; And As The Wreaths Of Smoke Go Up, The Vision Grows More Clear".
