2 Antique Teacups & Saucers Victoria of Austria Neoclassical Art & Gold Filigree

Description: This is a unique and beautiful antique set of 2 teacups and saucers from the Victoria Porcelain Manufacturer in Austria They are decorated with an intricate gold filigree design that and 2 different Neoclassical scenes on the outside of the cups. All this on a bright white, very thin porcelain background. The green manufacturer backstamp under the glaze of Victoria & a crown, was used from 1904-1918, according to theold stuff.com, so these are 106-120 years old! The factory where these were made was established in 1883 in Karlsbad. Two years later it changed hands and was renamed Porzellanfabrik Victoria Schmidt & Co. Now it is part of Thun Karlovarsky Porcelan. These are in excellent antique shape and I see no chips, crazing, cracks, or stains. Looking at an angle to the light, I see minimal wear on the glaze. There is some rub wear to the gold filigree, especially on the saucers and on the edges. The cups are about 2 inches high, 3 & 3/4 inches in diameter. The saucers are 5 & 1/2 inches in diameter. The cups hold a bit less than a standard teacup and hold 2/3 cup. The porcelain of the set is so fine and delicate, one set of cup and saucer only weighs 6.5 ounces!
