TWENTY TRICKS WITH WIZ-TAX by Samuel BerlandThis 14 page booklet was originally published in the 1940's, decades before contemporary magicians (notably Luke Dancy) started using a well-known secret substance to create amazing (and easy) magical effects. Sam Berland called it Wiz-tax, but we call it double stick tape. Maybe this wonder substance was brand new in the 1940's, but lucky for us, it is now readily available.Berland gives you 20 effects, mostly with coins and cards, but a few with silks, thimbles and other magical props. When these booklets were printed, each had a 2 inch x 3 inch piece of "Wiz-tax" stapled inside the back cover. This was enough to get you going on many effects, as you could cut pieces to the size you needed. When you ran out, you could buy more from your favorite dealer. Well, now you can buy more from your favorite office supply or grocery store.Even though it was stapled into the book a few decades ago, the original Wiz-Tax still seems to be active and sticky.Note: the photo illustrations in this reprint are very dark, and many are hard to see clearly -- (you can get an idea of what I mean in the posted photo). It is still easy to understand the workings of the tricks without the illustrations, but I wanted to make sure you knew that they were not very helpful in this reprinted edition.Another one of those little gems from the past which every magician should read and play with the ideas -- you will find something you really like, or be prompted to create your own new magic effect with Wiz-Tax.previously owned, but in near mint condition -- clean and unmarked, complete with original Wiz-Tax.
