Description: 2000 Topps Chrome Pokemon #09 Blastoise Tekno Chrome Version PSA 10. PSA 10 pop. 1 of 7. Total graded by PSA is currently at just 35 cards(PSA 10 Pop = 7). Its a beyond a rare pull, with just 2 Tekno Chrome cards issued per box and 78 characters in Series 1, it would take, if the cards were perfectly sorted, 38 booster boxes to pull a specific character. 2000 Topps Chrome Pokemon TV Animation Series. Issued one year only for the 1st Generation Pokemon. Series 1 had Pokemon Characters 1 thru 78, while Series 2 had characters 79 thru 151. The #09 Blastoise for auction is the rarest “Tekno” version which features a brilliant square pixelated background pattern which is best viewed in normal to low light conditions. The “Tekno” version card(s) were issued about 2 cards in each 30 pack booster box (each pack contains 5 cards). See the reverse picture of the Topps Chrome promo sheet with insertion rates for non base cards. -Spectra Version cards were issued about 1 card for each 2 packs.-Sparkle Version cards were issued about 3 cards for each 30 packs (each box). Currently a lot of confusion exists on Ebay sales with the ‘Chrome’ & ‘regular’ Topps Pokemon TV Animation issue. The ‘regular’ issue foil & rainbow foil insert cards are regularly offered on Ebay as “Topps Chrome Pokemon”, both releases have similar art work. Note: all Topps Chrome Pokemon card versions have a “Topps Chrome” logo on the card front. PSA, BGS, SGC & CGC card labels all make the distinction between the two versions. The current average Ebay cost for Series 1 Topps Chrome sealed booster box is between $11k/$15k. Currently there is a single Series 2 booster box listed on Ebay for more than $25k.
