Description: This Used 2005 Fender Custom Shop 1957 Telecaster Relic Masterbuilt by John English in Celadon Green is here on consignment. The guitar was part of a very large collection and it has seen very little play time over the last almost 20 years. The neck is straight, the frets are still crowned, and the truss rod functions properly. Included with the guitar is the certificate of authenticity and original hardshell case. John English is a revered Master Builder known for making some of the most desirable Custom Shop pieces from the 1990s and 2000s. From the Aloha Stratocaster to countless guitars for the stars, John English was really the first master builder who was THEE guy. John's passing at 57 in 2007 was much too early, though his impact on the Custom Shop's guitars is still felt today. This guitar is a 50s-based Telecaster with a very seldom-seen Celedon Green Finish. It's darker and less vibrant than Seafoam Green and has less blue in it. It has light relicing on it, some weather checking, and light dings. Paired with an anodized, gold aluminum pickguard, this is a unique-looking guitar. The neck is made from Maple and has a full-feeling Nocaster profile on it that measures a full inch deep at the 1st fret and the 12th fret. It has an ultra-soft, slight V in the 1st position, which helps make its full-feel more manageable. With a scale length of 25.5" and a nut width of 1.65", the strings have a snappy, taut feel and are right where your fingers expect them to be. A set of Telecaster single-coil pickups are tied to a master volume, master tone, and a 3-way pickup selector switch. It has perfect bark and bite in the bridge pickup while the neck pickup has the slightly muted and lower output vibe that you'd find on a real Tele of the era. The bridge pickup measures 6.4k and the neck 7.6k.
