Description: Thanks for checking out my auctions and for looking at this Custom Shop R9 Les Paul.2012 Gibson Custom Shop '59 Les Paul Standard ReissueI like this Les Paul for its muscular and clear tone. I sought out a great 2006 - 2012 model because they have Burstbuckers which use Alnico II magnets and sound great. I've played many Les Paul's with the newer Custombuckers (Alnico III) and don't prefer them compared to the Burstbuckers. This Les Paul has some harmonics and overtones and push. It is also very touch sensitive.The bottom end is tight and and defined,. Top end is clear and crisp, and plenty of mids are on tap. It sounds great clean or overdriven on both neck and bridge pickups. Pickups are important, but it all starts with a great acoustic sound. This sounds great without plugging in. It rings out and has character acoustically like a good Les Paul should. Good neck carve and a fantastic Gloss finish that feels great in the hand.The most important things to me in a Les Paul are the sound and the feel. Looks are great, but you can't play looks. To me a good Les Paul is bold in sound and tone. Beautiful in sight is a plus. Thankfully, this one has both in spades. No dings, scratches, fades. This Paul is in Excellent condition.The top is one of the best that I've seen, and certainly the best that I've owned. My old phone isn't doing it justice. The Iced Tea burst is perfect. The top has tons of character with fantastic vintage looking flame, cross grain and mineral streaks. The color and flame changes dramatically with different lighting and angles. I tried to capture that with different lighting and angles. The top is an exceptional example for an R9 from any year.Weight: 8.6 lbs. approximate.Neck thickness: .88 at 1st, .99 at 12th.
