The Kennedy half dollars feature the original 1964 obverse (heads) design with the image of President John F. Kennedy. The design inscriptions on the obverse are “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “2019.” The reverse (tails) design is based on the Presidential Coat of Arms. Inscriptions are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” and “HALF DOLLAR.” Advanced Releases is the only official designation made by the US Mint. Advanced Releases coins are coins sold to the 18 largest coin buyers from the US Mint but represent only a fraction of the coins sold by the US Mint.
