Irving, UWS and J. Boesenberg, BrownU) Well-delineated slightly shock-darkened chondrules containing devitrified glass are set in a relatively coarse-grained matrix containing fresh kamacite, augite, troilite, chromite and chlorapatite, but no plagioclase. Olivine in chondrules is equilibrated but low-Ca pyroxene is unequilibrated. Dark melt veins containing silicate glass, 1-10 µm olivine grains, and blebby kamacite+troilite are present.Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa24.7±1.0, range Fa24.0-26.4, N = 5), low-Ca pyroxene (Fs17.6±5.4Wo2.0±1.5, range Fs4.0-22.7Wo0.3-5.0, N = 9).Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L4, partially shock-melted).This gorgeous meteorite would make a fine addition to any collection.
