The plates have a scalloped edge and are in the Candlewick shape, with a flower theme and colonial style. History. The company was established in 1916 in Erwin, Tennessee by the Carolina, Clinchfield & Ohio Railroad. Southern Potteries went public in 1920 and began using an underglaze decoration technique. Production reached its peak in the early 1940s.
