SET OF TWO (2) original vintage Eames Herman Miller armshell chairs: 1 x SALMON1 x PARCHMENT/GREEN Shells only. No bases, no screws. SALMON Stunning vintage original EAMES salmon (pink orange) fiberglass shell chair from circa 1950's. Early armshell featuring the raised "3 dots" that pre-dates the later shells with the Herman Miller embossed logo. Inside the raised three dots is the embossed backwards "Z" which indicates an early Zenith. Amazing fiber content, especially on the back, as shown in these photos. Structurally sound with no cracks. Exhibits age-appropriate wear, as depicted. The most notable anomaly is the green paint on the front, which was already there when initially purchased. Likely an abstract painting experiment by the previous owner. In any case, you can leave as is, cover the front with an Eames seat cover, or remove the paint with the proper paint remover. All the shock mounts are original but have some wear, with the top eroded on the top, as depicted. These are all already reflected in the price. - and - PARCHMENT/GREEN The original color is parchment and was painted on the front, sides, and back a hunter green by the previous owner. Most of the bottom is still in original parchment. You can leave as is, strip it down to the original parchment, or repaint. Herman Miller logo embossed on the bottom. Age-appropriate wear, the most notable being a small tight 1" crack on the lower left part of the seat, edge wear, and some superficial scratches on the green paint throughout. Selling as is and already reflected in the price. Photos depict the chair under natural light and under indoor track lighting, so you can see the variations in color under different lighting conditions.
