Description: 3 x Paris Fashion LES MODES PARISIENNES Hand Coloured Engravings 1840's Set 7These lovely fashion plates, were taken from 'Les Modes Parisienne' a monthly French fashion magazine, published in Paris from 1843 to 1875. The 3 plates are hand coloured engravings, the colouring highlighting the beautiful flowing materials of the costumes. These are original prints and are in Very Good condition, with a few age marks.The plates all illustrate the fashion and hairstyles of the Parisian ladies of the day. Underneath is a description, in French, of the origins of the fashion items. Each plate measures 27cm x 20cm. You will receive in addition, facsimiles of a magazine frontispiece & 2 random pages of description just for interest, as in last photo.
