Description: GREAT BLUE LOBELIA aka Blue Cardinal Flower. American native wildflower. Found in filtered sun areas. Woodlands, wetlands, and prairies over the eastern half of the United States. These will adapt to full sun if there enough water to keep the soil from drying out. Easy to grow from seed. Considered a short-lived perennial (3/4 years) that will reseed, but not evasive. These can be divided after year 2 and beyond. Also, propagated by cuttings(mid-summer). This is a clumping perennial that forms a mound of leaves with a spread of 1 1/2 ft that will throw up a 3-foot spike of intense blue flowers late summer through late fall. Pollinator magnet. Deer resistant. 300+ seeds per order. Some American Native Wildflower seeds need to go through a cold winter to germinate. This plant is one of them. They do this so the seed won’t sprout in fall, only to have the seedling not make it through a cold winter. I have stratified these seeds to simulate a cold winter(stratification) This raises the germination rate considerably. Thanks for looking!!lobelia siphilitic Perennial. Part sun / Full sun.
