Once located, the matrix rock is cleaned back to expose the fossilized Trilobite skeleton. This process often calls for repair to the matrix rock and fossil. This Trilobite shows great detail and dates from the Devonian Age, about 380 million years old. Trilobites are extinct arthropods.
