Description: DESCRIPTION:A mid-season variety. The vegetation period from germination to technical maturity is 85 to 95 days. The fruits are round or oblong-rounded, dark green with stripes of medium width, and a weight of 15-22 lbs (7-10 kg). The flesh is red, crisp, tender, juicy, and crispy. The variety is resistant to fusarium and powdery mildew. USDA Hardiness Zone: 3-11Each package includes over35 seeds HOW TO PLANT:The preparation of seeds is the most important part of the planting process. The result depends on how you have prepared the seeds. In Northern Regions, it is recommended to start the seeds indoors 4-8 weeks before the last frost. Prior to germination, let seeds sit under the sun for 3-4 hours and carefully wash away the dried membranes and sugars on the outside of the seeds. This step is VERY IMPORTANT because those membranes and sugars will inhibit the seeds from germinating. You may need to wash the seeds several times. Then soak the seeds in room temperature (77-86˚F / 20-30˚C) water for 8-24 hours. The seeds may first float on top but will drop down after soaking in water. Do not soak for over 36 hours as it will drown the seeds. Then use the paper towel approach for germination. Tear a paper towel in half and moisten (not soak) one of the halves. Place the soaked seeds on a half of the paper towel and fold the other half over the seeds. Use a clear, sandwich size zip-close bag or a clean plastic take-out box and place the paper towel with seeds inside and reseal the bag or close the lid. Set the bag or box in a place that stays at room temperature. You can cover them in a cloth or towel and put under the sun, but don’t place the bag or box directly under the sun with no covering. The bag or box acts like a miniature greenhouse that retains heat and moisture. Check on the seeds everyday and add moisture if needed. You should observe seeds sprouting in about five to seven days. The seeds will germinate faster if the temperature is over 77˚F / 25˚C.Once germinated, plant the seedlings in starter soil and water thoroughly. Young seedlings can endure 32˚F / 0˚C air temperature for short periods of time at night but that will slow down its growth. When they have three true leaves fully grown and the last frost is over, they can be planted into the ground.Plant at least 5 feet / 1.5 meters apart. Leave no more than 3 vines per plant for best yield. For direct sowing, make mounds that are approximately 2 feet / 60 cms across the top and 8 to 12 inches / 20 to 30 cms high. The mounds of loose soil help the roots become established and allow excess water to drain. Level the top of each mound. Use your finger to poke four equally-spaced holes in the leveled-off soil. Each hole should be about 1 inch deep. Deposit one seed in each hole and lightly rake the soil to cover the seeds. Be careful not to disturb the seeds during this process. Pack the soil lightly to keep the seeds from drying out too quickly when being watered. Water the seeds. Plants should emerge within the first two weeks of planting.
