Description: AMAZING placer specimen. Do not know too much about the piece. It's been in my family for 3 generations. My grandmother delt in gold back in the 1930's. I'm sure it's local gold (Nevada City) but don't know what mine. The total weight of the piece (rock & gold) is 389 grams / 13.70 oz. Many years ago my mother had it tested, she said the specific gravity test resulted in 5 oz of gold on and withine the rock. People in the know who that have examined the piece said it's been washed?? I think they are saying an acid was used effecting the rock. I don't know more about that. The photo's say it all.
