4 Franciscan Desert Rose Flat Rim Soup Bowls USA Vtg Dinnerware California 1949

Description: Listed for your consideration is a set of 4 Franciscan Desert Rose Flat Rimmed soup bowls in excellent condition. This set of bowls each bear the "half moon mark" backstamp, indicating production between 1949-1953. This represents the older production of the pattern, most noticeably, they contain the finer details like scalloped edges and pronounced reliefs of the flowers, leaves and branches, which is not found on the pieces produced in England and then China. The bowls feature the hand-painted motif of pink roses on a creamy white background, with green leaves and brown branches adding depth and dimension to the design. They measure ~8.5" across and stand 1.5" tall. I found no chips, cracks or crazing and the finish is shiny. I have five other rimmed soup bowls made between July 1964 and September 1966 which bear the "TV Screen mark," also in excellent condition. Available but not yet listed are additional USA made pieces such as berry bowls, cereal bowls, dinner plates, salad plates and bread plates.
