Description: These Kewpie / Cupid dolls are very old. Made from celluloid, I believe they are from the 40’s or 50’s. > The tallest Kewpie is approximately 5” tall. He has the little wings at the base of his neck and “Mr. Wetzel” written on his outer right leg. The heart sticker says “. Reg. US Pat. Off.”He has the star hands and side glancing eyes, and a purple and red ribbon. His face paint is in excellent condition. He is missing one of his string arms. > The tiny 2 1/4 tall Kewpie is so sweet ! He has green wings, side glancing eyes, and stationary arms and legs. Face paint is excellent. I can’t make out the makers marks on the back. > The 3” tall Girl Carnival Cupie is marked “ Made in Occupied Japan”. Her face paint is excellent, she has side glancing eyes, and I find no holes or dents except on the bottom of her foot ( see photo). Her painted on hair is a golden brown color. > The 4” tall Girl Carnival Cupie has excellent face paint, side glancing eyes, golden brown painted on hair. The holes around her mid section and the almost invisible one on the back of her head are from having feathers attached to her. She has a hole in the bottom of her feet. See photos.
