This size of lead was one of the most commonly used in pencils of the time although it has not been manufactured for decades and is a challenge to find. However, with 4 of these long leads, you can now keep your antique pencils going for a very long time..... These leads are brand new old stock - original vintage, taken from the tube of leads photographed ("S.P. 338 B. REFILLS BLACK for MECHANICAL PENCILS, 1.50mm"). Their softness is "B" which is "black" = nice and velvet soft. The leads are long - 4 inches each (just over 10cm), and are manufactured with one sharpened end. You will receive 4 leads, not supplied in the original S.P. 388 B. tube, but instead protected in a padded box to ensure they arrive with you in perfect condition.
