Obv. In the foreground, the ancient draped sower, bare-footed. Behind him, a ploughman guides his oxen and his plough. Finally at the horizon, a mill, where the wheat grain, after the harvest, will be transformed into flour. Rev. crown with heads of animals, grapes, wheat.. ABOUT THE ARTIST Jean LAGRANGE (1831-1908), French medallist, pupil of VILVERT in Lyon and of BONNASSIEUX in Paris. Received the Premier Grand Prix de Rome in 1860.
