5 Antique Red LINEN Flax vintage French ticking material old fabric

Please follow us on Instagram @textiletrunk ~*~ 20 years of collecting to find these 5 piece of 1850s French ticking! ~*~ So bold, so gorgeous ~ 8 pounds of RARE gorgeousness! ~ These pieces have been in my private collection for many years, as I found this particular stripe, I would squirrel it away ! This is the produce of 20 years searching! ~*~ Rare and fabulous ~ just waiting for creative hands ~I LOVE the flax, white and red combination! ~*~ They each date from c1850 or just before. This bundle is IDEAL for a pillow maker! Im selling this bundle at a lower price per piece as its a bulk purchase! ~~ This bundle is ideal for say, pillows in the same area , where an eclectic , as found look is the goal! I use combinations like these in my own home, it gives a more collected / sourced look to an interior rather than off the shelf ! ~*~ They are each a heavy weight fabric, most are a linen and cotton mix. ! A wonderful stash for creative hands!! This bundle weighs 8.5 pounds! This pack can be thrown in the wash, machine wash and tumble dry for a nice floppy soft fabric! I like to use fabric softener in the final rinse. 8 pounds of wonderful, rare , historical fabric. MEASUREMENTS: 1) 63 inches wide by 90 inches long ~ This piece has the corners cut away as it was used for a mattress cover! There are some rust stains, near the side edge, but LOTS of fabulous fabric on this piece!! 2) 98 inches long by 38 inches wide ~ This piece has some staining, some hand mends and needs a good wash! ~ 3) 52 inches by 80 inches ~ gorgeous, with some holes, some pale marks , the corners are notched for use on a bed. 4) 75 inches long by 64 inches wide ~ corners notched, a few small marks, gorgeous antique condition~ 5) 55 inches by 92 inches ~ corners notched for use on a bed, some small marks a few small holes, but again, gorgeous antique condition ~ CONDITION: These pieces are all in unwashed, as found condition. You can just throw the entire lot into the washing machine and tumble them all dry! Please see the condition details above. Ideal for creative hands that love to have wonderful fabric on hand for many sewing projects! ~*~ Ticking: 4788 *The Word ticking is derived from the Latin word for case, Tica. Ticking fabric was used for creating mattress, as the European bedding system of old, consisted of many layers of textiles stuffed with straw and fodder at the bottom, and topped with a dense denim ( ticking) for the top layers, stuffed with feathers. The fabric came to be known as denim, as Nimes , France was one of the great producers of this ticking fabric...denim ( de Nimes! ) ~ a wonderful fabric for many projects.
