Description: 5 Francs 1834 France Silver Coin King Louis-Philippe I Marked “STERLING”. This is a crazy one! Why would anyone destroy a coin like this to make it into what we can only presume to be a necklace. Not really sure how the necklace would work unless it was two halves and two necklaces as in a broken heart necklace. And I don’t ever recall a coin this old being stamped with “ STERLING” or “ Made In France”. So we have a mystery. These coins were made of coin silver (90%) so at least we have a starting point. I suppose this could be a copy of a coin as well. Weight is 24.5 grams. See pictures and feel free to weigh in if you have additional information I can offer to others. I will gladly add it here. Otherwise will list as a pendant/coin and take reasonable offers. Shipped with USPS First Class and includes tracking to winning buyer .
