Description: HUGE 5-inch round Bicron BC412 Premium Plastic Scintillator Material The perfect size for building a Paint Can Scintillator Actual size is 4-7/8" diameter by 2-1/4" thick Pre-Cut Round with Polished Faces Bicron BC412 Scintillator Plastic. Couples very nicely to a 5-inch Photomultiplier. This material is a Premium Plastic Scintillator Material tested and guaranteed to work for GAMMA radiation detection when coupled to a PMT and built into a probe. This is the same material I use when building my own gamma detectors. Don't even think about trying to cut one this size on your own! The cutting and polishing of this plastic can be very difficult and costly without the proper knowhow and equipment. Unless you’re going to build dozens of probes, buying a round precut piece from me is much cheaper (and easier) than trying cut and shape it yourself. The item comes with instructions for use with photomultipliers and building your own detector, or use the "Paint Can Scintillator" instructions.
