The blue flowers occur in clusters at the tops of the stems, and they will close in the afternoon in sunny weather. Flowers will stay open longer in cloudy weather. Plants are drought tolerant, and the flowers provide nectar to pollinators in the spring and early summer. Sowing: Direct sow in late fall, planting just below the surface of the soil.
