Below are some preparation suggestions: "BETTER-FOR-YOU" PREPARATION: 1. Add 1 gallon of hot (180-190 deg F) water to a 6"x 1/2 size steam table pan. 2. Add entire pouch of potatoes at once and stir with a wire whip to distribute evenly and wet all potatoes. 3. Let stand 10 minutes. Mix well and serve. INDULGENT PREPARATION: 1. Heat 3 quarts of water and 1/2 cup of margarine or butter (or more) to a boil; remove from heat. 2. Add 1 quart of cold milk and then add one pouch of potatoes while stirring. 3. Let stand 10 minutes or until all liquid is absorbed. 4. Fluff and serve. MAKE THEM EVEN BETTER! (The way WE recommend you make them): 1. In a 5 quart pot (or larger), heat 3 quarts of water and one tablespoon of salt to boiling. Remove from heat. 2. Add one pouch of potatoes while stirring. Potatoes will soak up all the water and have the consistency of soft, mashed boiled potatoes. 3. Bury two (2) sticks of salted butter in the hot potatoes and let them melt, then stir to incorporate the butter into all the potatoes4. Heat one quart of milk in a separate saucepan. Bring to simmer. 5. Pour the boiled milk into the potatoes and stir.6. Let stand 10 minutes or until all liquid is absorbed.7. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of onion powder (or garlic powder if preferred) onto the potatoes then stir. We recommend using an electric hand mixer for this step.8.
