Description: 70s Couture James Galanos Shaved White Mink and Arctic Fox Fur Belted Vintage CoatThis absolutely stunning piece of art from the early 1970s by James Galanos was purchased at Bullock’s Wilshire in Los Angeles and comes with the original dust bag. This estate fur is top quality, with seamless construction for a look that doesn’t seem pieced together at all. The mink is shaved in a unique pattern that gives just the right amount of texture without degrading the pelt. The coat has an original mink belt, with loops at the waist, and this is the only closure. Two patch pockets are on the front, with flap details that hide a (DOUBLE POCKET). The inside is perfectly lined in dusty pink satin, most likely silk, and slides on and off like a dream. The collar is made out of arctic fox, and is soft and dreamy against the skin with that classic 1970s notched collar. This type of coat was often called a Stroller coat, because it was perfect for strolling around in, with the length being perfect for brisk walks, not hampered by a long coat. The outer coat is in excellent condition with no signs of wear. The only signs of wear are inside on the coats inner lining (See Photos).Truly a wonder to wear and look at. This would make a fantastic bridal coat for any winter brides with a taste for the extravagant. This coat would have been somewhere around $4,900 in the early 70s, which would be close to $28,000 in today’s money. You are getting a true steal on this one of a kind coat.
