Description: 70s Vintage Averardo Bessi Silk Tent Dress Black White Mod Floral Print Italy L A 1970s vintage silk tent dress by Averardo Bessi. Lustrous silk charmeuse fabric with beautiful drape and generous cut for dramatic flare. Bold Mod style white on back floral print with Bessi logo signature inside some of the flowers. Silk jersey collar and cuffs. Back zipper. Shoulder pads. "Bessi - Firenze - Italia" label and size label. Made in Italy. About Averardo Bessi from vintage couture.com - "Founded in 1950 by Averardo Bessi, an Italian tailor, the label grew quickly and by 1959 was being exported to be sold in the US. In 1966 Bessi introduced his famously printed fabric with his original designs that were reminiscent of Emilio Pucci, one of his contemporaries. All of his printed pieces contain his signature and he had a very loyal following among European and American women. His pieces are collectible and very wearable." Excellent condition, no stains or holes. One minor fabric pull near the neckline, it's shown in the photos. The color is vibrant with no fading. The size on the tag is US 14 / Italian 48. It's very generously cut so it would probably also work for US 16.
