Description: Box of 7x original photographic stereoscopic glass negative plates in good condition for age. The box is labelled "Val D'Azun" and dates from c1910s-20s. - the plates appear to show charming variety of locations and rural scenes, people etc. Each plate contains two images taken at exactly the same moment with slight framing differences (i.e. 14 exposures in total). Each glass plate measures 17 x 8 cm approx.About The Photographer Sourced from a large collection by a prolific photographer from the early part of the 20th Century called John Joseph William Carruthers. John Carruthers was a member of the Acton Photographic Society and also Secretary & Treasurer of the Hammersmith Hampshire House Photographic Society (both affiliated to the Royal Photographic Society Of Great Britain). He travelled extensively around Europe and the Far East with his camera and exhibited many of his photographs and has been listed in the British Journal Photographic Almanac.Please Note: The items being sold are negatives and you will need to convert them in order to create the positive images shown above.
