The Nut is CAD I Plated Steel and the base is Aluminum with the mounting surface Zinc Chromated. Many WWII era aircraft used these specific anchor nut plates but I don’t have the counts. According to the original ESNA Catalog #658: “Fiber Insert Nuts. Under normal operating conditions the red fiber inset provides completely satisfactory and economical locking effectiveness, retaining its locking torque for a minimum of fifteen installations and removals, ample re-usability to cover most normal maintenance requirements” The buyer is responsible for making sure that this part will work for their application as there is no warranty or guarantee expressed or implied.
