Description: THIS ITEM WILL BE SHIPPED FROM FEBRUARY 3RD Date/Period: Early 20th century carving - several thousands years old material Origin: Nagaland – India - Himalaya Dimension: 8 x 3.5 x 2.7 inches – 1200 grams (about 20 x 7 x 9 cm) Material: Fossil It's difficult to take photos that do justice to a work of art made of a material of these colors, and unfortunately I was unable to do it. The connection between the gaze of the mother, who looks down, and the child, who climbs up with his legs, is touching. A very rare piece indeed. Additional Information: The \"Nagas\" are a conglomerate of several tribal communities that inhabit the northeastern part of India and the northwestern part of Burma (Myanmar). The communities have a similar culture and traditions, and form the ethnic majority group in the Indian state of Nagaland, with a significant presence in the states of Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam. The Nagas were headhunters until the arrival of the Christian missionaries in the 1930s. I do not have the certificate of origin or other types of documents. It does not self-stand There are some small cracks on the back at the hips, hard to see in the photos. However the conditions are good.
