It is a very solid piece and will last for many generations. Taking up about the same room as the 6 drawer, it has more storage with the smaller drawers along the top. The whole dresser is solid lodge pole pine and is stained and varnished. All our log dressers are handcrafted by the Amish in NW Montana, using solid pine, edge-glued laminated panels and hand peeled, hand-peeled lodge pole pine accents and drawer pulls. Upkeep is simple on our log furniture - if you do get nicks and dings, they can be sanded out and finish re-applied or just leave as is for additional character.We build these with lodgepole pine as it grows naturally in the forests of NW montana and is known for its superior strength to weight ratio. It is also straighter, thus making it easier to work the raw wood into the highest quality furniture possible. Our lodge pole pine is harvested in the Kootenai National Forest via a very selective process. Skilled woodsmen select each tree with an attentive eye toward the quality, straightness and size of each specimen. After felling, each piece is hand carried to the road to ensure both the tree and the environment remain unharmed. Then each log is hand peeled, using the skip-peel method where some of the inner bark is left on, creating a beautiful rustic piece of furniture for your home, lodge or cabin.These solid pine log dressers are true heirloom quality, designed and built to last a lifetime.
