Description: This is an important books of photos on Palestine in 1947 just before the State of Israel was declared independent in May 1948. The book was produced and written by Jakob Rosner who was a German who moved to Eretz Israel in 1928. Rosner travelled to the US in 1927 - 28 to study and he met and worked with Stieglitz. His first wife was the German-Israeli film director Margot Klausner. Rosner died in 1950 at the age of 48. About ten of the photos are by Alfred Bernheim of Jerusalem. Berheim was a prominent German-Israeli photographer. Included with the book is a one page advertisement for the book (see photos) The photos in the book are beautiful. Most of the copies books for sale online in very good condition sell for twice the price.
