Description: This auction for a 1st edition, 1st printing of A Storm of Swords, book 3 in George R.R. Martin's pop culture sensation "A Song of Ice and Fire" series. This novel was originally published back in 2000, a decade before the HBO television adaptation that sent global awareness of this tale into the stratosphere. Hence, any of the first three volumes in the series have some real collectibility. This particular book was my original copy, bought back in 2000 and read several times. The book does show that reading wear, but I my untrained eye would still call it "Good," based on the descriptions provided by ebay. The dust jacket itself is still in rather good shape, with very minimal dings and creases and still with a nice, high gloss on it. The real signs of wear are on the unfortunately-white-colored boards of the book body. I foolishly decided to read this volume without the dust jacket on, so these white boards have some discoloration on them. The edges of the pages show the same, where my hands held the book while I read through the nearly 1,000 pages several times over the years. Though it's hardly in pristine condition, this is a great chance to get a very collectible book for a very affordable price. It shows well on a bookshelf, and these books' status as all-time fantasy classics is cemented. The book will be shipped using media mail, and I will be sure to package it in a cardboard box, with bubble wrap to prevent any damage.
