Description: Over the years, Abingdon Pottery used various in-mold & inkstamp marks on the bottom of the pieces, as well as applying various labels to the sides. These foil embossed labels were made by F. E. Mason and Sons of Batavia N.Y. They were placed on pieces of Abingdon pottery post-WWII, toward the end of their art pottery production. They can be seen on various later pieces in the 1997 Abingdon Pottery reference book "Abingdon Pottery Artware" by Joe Paradis. This small label is about 1 inch wide & 1/2 inch tall. It is a rectangular label with rounded corners in a dark yellow/amber color with raised goldtone lettering that reads "ABINGDON MADE IN U.S.A." The back has adhesive that sticks to the pottery when moistened. The label was in the factory when production ended September 1950. It is in excellent original condition & ready to display or apply to Abingdon Pottery pieces from the appropriate era as a nice addition to a collection.
