Description: This is a very specialized piece of technology. I am not 100% certain but I believe this to be a piece of equipment used in the realm of underwater salvage. I believe this actuator is used to activate a supply of air that is pumped into large floatation bags that are attached to a sunken vessel. The actuator is triggered by an acoustic signal. I don't have any knowledge as to the age of this device or even whether or not it is functional. There are no signs of wear or damage to the outside of the unit and the paint job and labeling are in good shape so it has been well cared for. Unit is cylindrical in shape. It is approximately 2+ feet long and approximately 3 inches in diameter. Weighs about 5.5 pounds.
