This is the entry model in the YD series. The body top is solid spruce, the sides and back are laminated rosewood, and the fingerboard and bridge are ebony. The neck is not an adjustable rod, but a highly rigid mahogany neck with an iron core rod. Although it has been around for about 45 years, there are no signs of warping or twisting and it is in good condition. Since it is an instrument from the 1970s, the string height was set high at the time of shipment, and medium gauge was the standard. Currently, by adjusting the saddle and nut, it has been reset to a light gauge, and the string height is set to 2.7 millimeter (0.1 inches) for the 6th string and 1.8 millimeter (.07 inches) for the 12th fret, making it easy to play. It has a bright and voluminous sound that is typical of Japanese folk guitars from the 1970s. Although it does not have the delicacy and depth of a Martin of the same age, the retro folk sound is quite tasteful. Over time, the paint on the entire body has become cloudy. The top shows a few superficial marks scattered about. There is a dent on the top of the body. There are also some marks on the back of the neck. The fingerboard surface shows slight wear in the low position. There are dents and marks on the four corners of the head. The plating on the original pegs is in good condition and can be tuned smoothly. There is not much room in the saddle. There is no problem with playing. Considering the year, it is in normal condition. Comes with a general-purpose hard case. The case is worn and has marks. The end pin of the sixth string is not genuine.
