Acoustic Guitars S. Yairi YD 302 70s Solid Spruce Top with Hard Case

Description: Warm greetings from Japan. Thank you very much for visiting our listing. This is a YD-302 that appears to be from the 70s. The truss rod is located one fret below and the binding is white. Considering its age, I think it is in good condition overall. The string height is about 2.7mm/0.11in for 12F 6-string. The nut is set quite low, so it's great for fingering and also for strumming low chords. The neck is adjusted so that it is slightly back-bowed with the strings loosened and then tuned to be almost straight. If you look at the S.yairi catalog from around this time, it is listed as a medium gauge, so light gauge or medium gauge would be appropriate. Well, the model being offered for sale this time is solid spruce top, rosewood back and sides, ebony fingerboard and bridge. There are some small line marks and scuffs due to use, but in my opinion, the overall condition is clean and good. When I got it, one of the 6th string peg covers was missing, but I had a Gotoh with the same hole position, so I thought I would just replace it. There was a crack in the paint on the back of the head, so I checked it and replaced it with a new Gotoh one (the original pegs will be included). As a result, the sound seems to have more sustain than before the replacement. Also, the cracks only seem to have been in the paint, so there doesn't seem to have been any impact on the wood. The frets have been replaced once, but there is no significant wear and there is no need to replace them immediately. There is no problem with the fingerboard. It seems to resonates better than the 305 and 306, which I thought were great, and better than the 307, which I thought was the best. The sound quality is a little rough, probably because the sides and back are made of plywood, but it has the best sustain and volume with the so-called "70s sound." The case is genuine, but it is quite damaged, so please consider it as a bonus for transportation purposes. This can probably be a guitar that sounds good enough to be used live.
