Description: ADVERTISING HAND FAN BURLINGTON NORTHERN SANTA FE TRAIN RR VTG RAILROADIANA Rare attractive hand fan is a bright colorful, easy to display item for any collector. Note my close-ups of edge wear and back has some stains that do not show through. Fan works great. Burlington Northern acquired the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway in 1996 to form the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway (later renamed BNSF Railway). It was owned by Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corp. The first rail service from Aurora to Chicago in 1850 chugged north from Aurora to G&CU tracks (now UP West) and east to Chicago. When that line got congested, the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy built a direct line, which opened with passenger service in 1864. Over the years, the name of the owner changed to Burlington Northern to Burlington Northern Santa Fe to BNSF. This line was the first to use bi-level coaches, built by Budd in 1950.
