Aechmea nudicaulis - Rare Bromeliad - Pineapple Relative

Description: Aechmea nudicaulis A vigorous and easily grown species from Central and South America, that offers tall spikes of vibrant red bracts and tubular, Canary yellow flowers in summer to fall. The plants have wide, strap-like, shiny leaves edged in small spines, and may attain heights of 14" to 18". My mother plants are planted on Redwood trees, as well as at the base of trees, where they are starting to grow up the sides. Though a tropical plant, they will tolerate temperatures into the mid 30s, or lower, with some protection from hard frosts. Enjoys filtered sun and constant moisture, with water needing to be kept in the vase of the plant. Will add an exotic touch to your landscape! This offering is for one well-rooted and established, blooming-size division. Shipped bareroot with roots wrapped in moss and paper - the plant will be very similar to what may be seen in the last photo (minus the pot). Ready for planting into a 6" pot. The flower photos are for reference only. The plants are grown outdoors and the foliage may have some blemishes. I have been collecting and cultivating rare and exotic plants for nearly 50 years, and I take great pride in what I grow and sell here on ebay. All photos are of plants in my own collection - unless stated otherwise. NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING - SORRY - I ONLY SHIP TO THE US. I do combine shipping for multiple items - please request a new shipping total before checking out. Please Note: requesting combined shipping can not be done on a phone - the request must be made from a computer or tablet.
