Description: Al Cass 2-27. Trumpet. From the 2 series *the Diz series, set of 5 prototypes hence this is the 27 throat. Same as the 2-28 but with a 27 throat. It was advertised that players would get other sizes to not so much get a better piece, easier to play, rather it was based on tone by throat size rather to color their sound. For example a bigger wider throat could give you a darker tone. The bigger throats are far rarer. Dizzy Gillespie used a 2 with 24 throat because he could produce maximum airflow. His model also had a special backbore tailored for him. Probably the most exacting 2-27 in existence. *the 2-28 and 2-26 are SOLD from this set. Turn back the clock to 1970!
