Signed "To Roger Best Wishes Alan Young" He was best known to television viewers as Wilbur Post on the CBS comedy series "Mister Ed" from 1961 to 1966. During the Second World War, he served in the Royal Canadian Navy. He began his career in entertainment soon after. He started in radio in Canada and then moved to the United States with "The Alan Young Show" on NBC in 1946. He later switched to ABC, but came back to NBC. His film career started in 1946 with his role in the film"Margie" and three years later he appeared in the film "Chicken Every Sunday." In 1950 he got his own television show "The Alan Young Show," which earned several Emmy awards (including a Best Actor Emmy for him). After his television show was cancelled, he would go back to acting in such films as "Androcles and the Lion," (1952) "Gentlemen Marry Brunettes," (1955) and "The Time Machine." (1960) In 1961, he received his most famous role on the show "Mister Ed", which lasted until 1966. After "Mister Ed", he would go on to appear in many television shows such as "The Love Boat," "Murder, She Wrote," and "St. Elsewhere." He also was the voice of Scrooge McDuck in several Disney cartoons and voiced various other cartoon characters throughout his career.
