Description: WebVinyl Presents! Alex Malheiros “Atlantic Forest” Original 1985 First Pressing Vinyl 33-1/3 RPM 12” Latin Jazz / MPB / Fusion / Funk Record Album! No Reserve! DESCRIPTION Alex Malheiros - “Atlantic Forest” Milestone Records M-9131 (Stereo) from 1985. Hard to find Original First Pressing MPB / Latin / Jazz / Fusion / Funk album from Alex Malheiros best known as a founding member of Azymuth. Backed by a great band featuring fellow Azymuth member Ivan Conti (Mamão) along with Ion Muniz, Marco Resende, Getulio Pereira, Victor Biglione, José Luiz Duarte, Chacal, Ricardo Pontes, Picolé, Zézinho and more. On the Orange Milestone labels and in the Original Cover with no Cutouts. This is a First Pressing as indicated by the Matrix / Runout Vinyl markings which read: Matrix / Runout (Matrix, label side A): M-9131-AMatrix / Runout (Matrix, label side B): M-9131-BMatrix / Runout (Runout, side A Etched): P ᴀM9131 A₁Matrix / Runout (Runout, side B Etched): P ᴀM9131 B₁ CONDITION The Sleeve is in good shape. There is shelf wear, corner softening / wear and a small crease in the lower right corner. This is an ex-library LP and there is a library sticker in the upper right, a small green dot in the upper left and four staple holes along the spine. There is a gold promo stamp on back. Still super solid with no splits, stains, tears, cutouts, writing, etc. and would rate VG overall. The Vinyl is in clean Glossy condition. There are some scuffs, marks and light hairlines, no actual scratches i.e. something felt with a fingernail. VG visually but plays mostly closer to VG+ with a few spots of groove noise and random soft tics, might well be improved with a better cleaning than I can give with my Discwasher brush. There are library stamps on side one but the labels are otherwise NM. SONG LIST A1 Four Aces And A Joker = Quatro Azes E Um Coringa 5:30A2 Atlantic Forest = Mata Atlântica 2:58A3 Papaia 5:31A4 Sleight Of Hand = Passe De Magica 5:58B1 Traveling Through Your Body = Viajando No Seu Corpo 5:39B2 Bossanovamente! 4:49B3 Eastern Sunflowers = Os Girassóis Do Oriente 4:09B4 Dress Rehearsal = Ensaio Geral 4:38 TERMS AND DEFINITIONS Records are graded to the best of my ability to Goldmine Visual standards. If I provide Play Grades it is done as a courtesy but I only guarantee the Visual Grade. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding. I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words: Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less! If you are not satisfied that a purchase meets my description, I will do what I can to make it right if you give me the chance and work with me! Please feel free to check my feedback.
