On “15 Lexington Avenue” letterhead. Alexander Stuart Webb (1835-1911). During the Civil War Webb rose to the rank of Major General in the Union Army. The highlight of his military career came at the Battle of Gettysburg, where he won the Medal of Honor for playing an instrumental role in stopping Picket’s Charge. Following the war he became the President of New York City College. Condition Very good.
