Description: Bone (‘Annaba in Arabic) is a port city in eastern Algeria near the Tunisian border. During World War I a local coin shortage induced the local (French) Chamber of Commerce to order tokens from France. These are sometimes called "necessity currency" or "mint of need". These tokens are rare, with only 50,000 estimated to have been minted. I have taken 2 different sets of photos with quite different lighting conditions. Both were taken with an iPhone with no color filters. This coin is oxidized to a typical brown color, but there is very little evidence of wear and all the features are fully visible. I am not a professional coin grader, but would personally call this XF. Please see the photos and judge the grade for yourself. I will ship via USPS Ground Advantage with full tracking. I really want to help you reduce your shipping charges. If you make multiple purchases of coins in the same day, I will combine the shipments and will charge you only the highest of the shipping charges on your orders. All the others ship free! Just don’t pay for anything until you are done shopping, then send me a message asking for a combined invoice. If you do go ahead and pay for all of your items, send me a message and I will refund the extra shipping charges.
